Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) has logged five consecutive quarters of stable crude production, according to director general Juan Carlos Carpio Fragoso, who made the announcement at the opening of the Mexican Petroleum Congress.

The executive presented the figures at the twentieth edition of the conference, held in Veracruz, one of the country's most important industry forums and a major gathering for oil suppliers and sector specialists. According to El Financiero, liquid hydrocarbon production rose 2% between February 2025 and April 2026, climbing from 1.621 million to 1.652 million barrels per day. The stabilization matters for Mexico because steady crude output helps secure supply to domestic refineries and sustains the state company's targets. Pemex is Mexico's state-owned productive enterprise responsible for exploration, production, and refining of hydrocarbons nationwide.

The Mexican Petroleum Congress convenes operators, authorities, and suppliers regularly to assess industry direction. Second-quarter operational and financial reports will reveal whether the stability trend holds and how priority fields perform in the second half of the year, against a backdrop of international crude prices that continue to shape the company's finances.
