Card Distribution Underway
Mexico's Secretariat of Welfare launched card distribution Monday, June 15, for applicants who registered in April for the Pension for the Wellbeing of Older Adults and the Women's Wellness Pension. Distribution runs through June 21 and precedes a new registration period scheduled June 22-28 at Bienestar modules across the country.
Record Coverage Push for 2026
The rollout follows President Claudia Sheinbaum's June 1 announcement of a 2026 expansion reaching 42 million 860 thousand 296 people, the highest figure ever recorded in Mexico. The federal administration has committed over one trillion pesos in social spending, with 490 billion 253 million already disbursed through May.
For countless Mexican families, the card distribution means access to a bimonthly pension now enshrined in the Constitution as a social right, with direct deposits to the Banco del Bienestar.

Eligible recipients will receive an SMS with their assigned date, time, and module for card pickup. The new registration period operates Monday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at modules listed on gob.mx/bienestar.

Broader Welfare Expansion
This effort complements other federal support programs including the Rita Cetina Universal Scholarship for secondary school, the Disability Support Pension, and the Youth Building the Future program. Between 2019 and 2026, that youth initiative alone served 3.5 million young people with 168 billion pesos in cumulative investment.
The next update arrives in July when the new batch concludes and officials release monthly coverage and disbursement reports.
