A Month of Culture During the World Cup

Mexico's Culture Ministry unveiled its artistic and cultural programming for the 2026 World Cup Social, coordinating 281 activities between June 11 and July 5, according to the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH).

The National Institute of Fine Arts (INBAL) and INAH are leading the effort, joined by the National Film Library (Cineteca Nacional), the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (Fonca), and state cultural centers.

Extended Museum Hours and Infrastructure Investment

Four federal museums will extend their hours from June 11 to July 5:

The cultural initiative comes with approximately 400 million pesos invested in rehabilitation, maintenance, and museum upgrades at 46 archaeological zones, 15 museums, and 12 pre-Hispanic ball courts.

Additional Cultural Programming

The lineup is complemented by special performances from the Cervantino Festival and Cineteca Nacional with curated film cycles. Culture enthusiasts will have a packed month leading up to the tournament's opening match at Estadio Ciudad de México.
