Mexico and Argentina have formalized a partnership to design and operate a satellite dedicated to climate monitoring across Latin America. The project aims to generate precise data on atmospheric variables, precipitation patterns, and changes in vegetation coverage, with the goal of strengthening early warning systems throughout the region.

The initiative includes technology and knowledge sharing between the space agencies of both countries. Mexico will provide data processing infrastructure, while Argentina will contribute satellite instrumentation components. The satellite will deliver real-time information on droughts, hurricanes, and temperature variations, data that can inform climate adaptation policies.

The agreement also covers the training of specialists and development of applications for agriculture, water resource management, and civil protection sectors. Satellite operations will be coordinated from stations in Mexican and Argentine territory, with open information sharing extended to other Latin American nations.
